Health Affairs Institute offers survey research services that empower our partners with reliable information translatable to insights on issues that matter for Appalachia.

We employ robust quantitative and qualitative research methods to collect and analyze data that is reliable, replicable, and follows systematic procedures. Health Affairs provides our partners with a structured survey lifecycle that ensures accuracy and replicability in our findings.

Our statisticians, survey methodologists, project managers, survey analysts, subject matter experts, and consultants work collaboratively to collect sound data and increase our partner’s ability to act on survey results. We design and implement methods that result in precise exploratory, descriptive, and causal survey research across large and small data pools.

To help our partners reach their program and policy goals, Health Affairs employs various methods in survey data collection, from telephone, web, mail, and mixed-mode designs to in-person data collection through interviews and focus groups. Our survey research services include:

Designing samples, data collection protocols, and instruments
Conducting surveys through a variety of data collection methods
Analyzing, reporting, and presenting findings
Protecting all processes and data through quality assurance and system security

The Mixed Methods Research Core

The MMRC provides expertise in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research to advance research scholarship, practice, and policy. Comprised of experts within the WVU Health Affairs Institute and WVU School of Public Health, the MMRC offers tailored consultation and collaboration across the research process—from study design and data collection to analysis, integration, and dissemination/manuscript writing—to conduct rigorous and impactful research and evaluation studies.
