As an Assistant Director of Research Support, Natalie works as part of the Health Affairs science leadership team to develop and maintain research support services, processes, and procedures. She helps to oversee the research specialist functional group and provides supervision for senior research specialists and managers. She also functions as a project director and senior research specialist, where she conducts research and evaluation through collaboration on interdisciplinary project teams within the Health Affairs Institute.

Natalie is proudly Appalachian and has focused her entire career on health and well-being for the region. Prior to joining Health Affairs, Natalie was Research Associate at Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service. She served as an evaluator for state and federally funded projects for 11 years. She began her journey with a focus on quantitative data analysis and visualization and evolved into managing evaluation projects and enhancing them with economic impact and social return on investment methodologies. She specializes in program evaluation and applied research methods to create a framework applicable to each unique project. Natalie aims to ensure a culture of respect and a fluid exchange of ideas both within her team and with their stakeholders. She strives for clear language to communicate complex, data-driven conclusions.
