Education

BS, Environmental Public Health, Ohio State University

Kate is a program coordinator responsible for the daily operations, future planning, and programmatic collaboration needed to conduct the fourth phase of the Child Mental Health Evaluation project at the Health Affairs Institute (HAI). Her professional interests lie in the areas of community empowerment, public health programming, food security, and nutrition.

Service has always been at the heart of Kate’s interests. She fulfilled two years of National Service through the Americorps VISTA program, which contributes to her three years of full-time experience in hunger-relief programming with nonprofits. Undoubtedly, the most rewarding part of Kate’s career has been the privilege to learn and grow as a public health professional while giving back to her community. Kate is honored and motivated to continue this passion in West Virginia and the Appalachian region through her role at HAI.
