Blake’s role at Health Affairs involves coordination with project teams and stakeholders, stakeholder identification, project management, budget management, procurement, and communications. He works on the Medicaid Benefits Assessment, Direct Care Worker Cliff Study and Training, and Assessment of West Virginia’s Homeless Population projects.

Professionally, Blake is interested in public service that improves the economic, social, and health outcomes of West Virginians and the Appalachian region. He is especially interested in making our towns more economically viable while at the same time making them healthier and more enjoyable places to live and visit in a post-extraction economy.

In his Master of Public Administration studies at WVU, much of Blake’s coursework and interests focused on the interconnectedness of policy, health, well-being, and the economy. Through this lens, he is pleased to work on projects that focus on Workforce Development and Population Health to create better opportunities for West Virginians.

At Health Affairs, Blake enjoys getting to experience the power of effective project management that pushes our initiatives forward. As he transitions from a student into his career, Blake is excited for the opportunities to work within Policy Analysis and Evaluation, Survey Research, and Training and Technical Assistance areas at Health Affairs.
